Moving laterally, I found myself working with Media Partnerships Marketing—first in the role of a project manager and then again as a product manager. In addition to coordinating meetings and expansive internal web directories for a global team of over 100 people, I was entrusted to help plan and build Meta’s new “Cultural Moments Calendar,” and flex my creative muscles by authoring and producing concepts for the Instagram @Creators “Anthem” and Meta for Creators “Piece of Cake” videos.
Digital Tools Management Associate role with Facebook
After serving as a copywriting intern for Facebook Business News, a proofreading contractor and then Knowledge Management Associate with Facebook IQ—the insights and marketing research division of Facebook Business—I continued my work with Facebook as a Digital Tools Management Associate and a contributing member of the FBIQ CMS Engineering Team. In this product management position, I help direct the creation of Facebook IQ featured content, and developed and engineered a brand new collaborative Meta for Business “Campaign Guidance Navigator” experience.
Editing and Fact-Checking Internship with NPR Illinois
Recommended for the position by a Medill School of Journalism professor who specializes in editing, I spent the fall and winter of 2017 serving as a remote editor for NPR Illinois’ Illinois Issues column, which reports on state and local politics.
Copywriting Internship with Havas Worldwide
Working for clients including Green Mountain Coffee, Edible Arrangements and TD Ameritrade at Havas, I coauthored and edited client-facing video and print ads. I also led a group of 5 other interns in planning a campaign for the non-profit Books for Kids Foundation.
Spec Product Launch for Red Bull micro
I led a small group of Northwestern students in creating a new product, the energy shot Red Bull micro, and constructing a presentation-ready pitch that addresses brand identity and relevant financials.
Spec Campaign for Hot Topic
Encouraged to take on work for challenging brands and IP, I led a team of two other Northwestern undergraduates to produce 3 campaigns for Hot Topic. Focusing on revitalizing HT’s brand identity and modernizing its value proposition, we created 9 pieces of marketing material including outdoor advertisements, sponsorship, original sponsored content and pre-roll video ads.
Multimedia Reporting and Web Page Design
Combining mobile video and audio reporting, data visualizations and interactive elements, I cowrote, coproduced and codesigned a complete digital story package, and edited or authored much of the underlying HTML and CSS on the page.
Undergraduate Work & Research
Working alongside Northwestern undergraduate and graduate students, I spent 2 quarters researching 3D photogrammetry and 3D projection. Our final projects included creating high-quality digital models from mobile video, as well as interactive, room-scale projection-mapped installations.
